white house, black hole...

From the creative team that brought you "Nailin' Paylin" …

Evidently you haven't or your neo-liberal genuflection forces you to deride the facts.

Stick to infomercials.

Considering the Chinese retaliation regarding the debt they hold, there probably isn't.

Despite the name, not really a Chinese firm.

Record low to record high in a week

It's been remarkably mild all winter this far. So this is a wake-up. Currently 19 degrees, feels like 4, will have wind chill below zero tonight.

Better than our MA place, where it is currently 8 degrees.

Of course I know that's nothing compared to dryfly country, but when you're not used to it … DAMN!

Cold as all get out in NYC.

Whiskey, good luck with your search. And good on ya for keeping your conscience.

I feel like a total sell-out.

Hey, it's not like you're getting married or anything.

Those Cheetos are both a blessing and a curse.

Cosmetic regional indexes get immediate attention. Others languish.

At first blush I thought you were referring to the widely covered Avon/MaryKay indices.

They should start data mining comment sections on blogs

Cough, shill, cough cough.

Playing off that Bill Maher riff, which was great:

Kim Dotcom: the internet cult hero spoiling for a fight with US authorities

I wonder if Antipodes parties with Kim Dotcom.

Regulators have closed a small lender in Minnesota, making it the second U.S. bank failure of 2013 following 51 closures last year.

It's Friday, Friday

Ahem. "inions" -> unions.

But I think the post war generation had a better collective bargaining position than this current age

There is a direct correlation between the decline of inions and the decline of the middle/working classes.

Duke happy bday. That new picture is not far off from my mental image of you. This one is even closer:

Put me down for the latter - I put the slave trade and robber baron industrialism of the 19th century as exh 1 and exh 2 in making my case.

You are correct. There was improvement as New Deal programs, Great Society and post-war programs (progressive marginal income tax rates, GI Bill, etc) helped even things out a bit. But it's been clawed back aggressively over the last 30+ years with no relief.

They'll turn this country into Mexico if they can.

Yeah, I feel fine most of the time but every once in a while I feel like I'm going to blow chunks and I get hot.

Chunks? He's back in town?

Innocent Feel better HG.

Sounds like some marriages.

Sounds like … Hoocoodanode!

Commentariat has been a bit grouchy lately.

The photographer kept telling her to get closer to the rhino and even coaxed the rhino closer with food.

In his defense, he saw the potential for a killer shot.

Snark

Sounds like someone hasn't heard of location, location, location.

The NAR's theory is locution, locution, locution.

Can you say " incredibly gullible drinking sucker" ?

Of course, but I use "bearly" for short.

No, it is not the "exact same thing". His vote against it failed and he knew it would fail before he cast it

Exactly. As I saw written elsewhere this morning, the difference is roughly that between public masturbation and a school shooting.

No negotiations with terrorists.

Also, we're out of cool whip.

I think our hopes for either 'Bama or the few remaining patriots are bound to end in bitter, banker-enriching disappointment.

One way to ease the pain - see if you can get Yancey or bearly to take the other side if that action.

Profit!

Or just go for 'OM NAMAH SHIVA'

Or order a couple Mola Rum and cokes.

I try to keep a positronic attitude, but sometimes I get uncertain.

Lore, is that you?

yagij, good luck! Been very happy with the plunge we took in April. Of course, I had been holding the wife off for over six years Smile

I think we made out well.

More like Calvin Coinage, amirite?

I'll see myself out.

It's a little known fact that Jesus's chariot ran on a mixture of corn ethanol, and Kentucky bluegrass.

I think that was Judas's chariot.

Ba-da-boom-TISH

Diminishing returns, too many asslowns ( yes you know who you are ) and pathetic posts like this from CR has forced me to leave this blog because it now pretty much sucks.

Party

Shit. Where am I gonna get my Zero Hedge links now? Puzzled

I guess we all follow the stars, one way or the other...

LOL RT@ResistanceIsFeudal

Sigh. I've got a friend who listens to (and believes) Alex Jones.

Facepalm

Christ almighty that guys a nutbag.

It's all good, CalPERS managed to find a 7.5% compound yield on Greek bonds.

Got a hell of deal, bought the whole lot of MF Global's holdings at par, and not a penny more!

Snark

Actually, I gotta work now.

Moar liberal lies!

At what point does this scream "sham"?

It's all a sham - starting with the phony debt ceiling crisis. And I predict none of these tricks will be implemented, because the GOP cliwn car posse will back down.

But it's vital to demonstrate that their negotiating chip is worth less than a cow chip.

How about another bold call ... the Federal budget deficit shrinks faster than most people expect, and debt to GDP stabilizes (before starting to increase again next decade unless we do something about health care).

Agreed. And we have a LOT to do on healthcare. ACA doesn't come close to cutting it.
